Nicosia is a city rich in sights and museums. Its historical cultural values and ancient excavations definitely are very interesting. To ensure that your acquaintance with them leaves only pleasant impressions, do not forget to bring water and comfortable shoes with you.
A long seafront with tall palm trees and open cafes will lead you to the seaport. In the waterfront cafe, you can try local cuisine, eat an English breakfast with a view of the ships and fishing boats, or just have a coffee and visit the Medieval fortress.
The Mediterranean Sea is one of the most tidiest. Tidy beaches stretch almost along the entire coast of Paphos. People open the swimming season already in April-May, while the locals come to the sea sights only by the middle of summer. The torridest period is the end of July-August. Therefore, if you prefer mild climate, warm sea and less tourists, September-October is the perfect time for a handy holiday.
At the end of spring, the sea is still fresh, but the eyes are pleasing with the incredible colors around. At this time, after the winter rains, the island dresses up, flowers bloom are everywhere on the bushes and trees.
The atmospheric streets of the Old Town in Limassol are made for unhurried evening walks with the family. Picturesque villages in the suburbs are inhabited mainly by elderly and very good-natured people. Medieval color, mountain landscapes, traditional taverns.
By the way, a little advice from Cyprus taxi services – when choosing a place for a lunch, you better give preference to the place in which there are the most Cypriots. They know really tasty places.
Visit old churches and small churches. In them, believers will be able to venerate icons and holy relics. Group excursions to monasteries are very popular, but if you prefer solitude, there is a lot of information on the Internet with which you can make your own route.
A small reminder of what you should definitely take with you on any excursion:
Paphos /ˈpæfɒs/ (Greek: Πάφος [ˈpafos] , Cypriot Turkish: Baf) is a coastal city in southwest Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. In classical antiquity, two locations were called Paphos: Old Paphos, today known as Kouklia, and New Paphos.
The current city of Paphos lies on the Mediterranean coast, about 50 km (30 mi) west of Limassol (the biggest port on the island), both of which are connected by the A6 highway. Paphos International Airport is the country’s second-largest airport. The city has a subtropical-Mediterranean climate, with the mildest temperatures on the island.
In 1980, Paphos was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its ancient architecture, mosaics, and ancient religious importance. It was selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2017 along with Aarhus.

Public transport in Cyprus is not the most handy way to get around, as daytime routes end trips around 19: 00. On weekends the time distance between routes increases, and in the suburbs it stops altogether.

But from Larnaca airport to get to Paphos by bus is much more difficult. You will first have to get to the bus station in the port of Limassol and then transfer to the bus towards Paphos.
Several times a year bus drivers stage protests during which they completely stop their work for several hours or days.
There is left-hand traffic in Cyprus, so the first days you drive, you should be especially prudent. The driver is interdicted to hold a mobile phone, drink, eat food. Gas stations are located mainly near cities. If you are planning a trip to the mountains, it is worth filling up a full tank first.
